Silent Night

All was calm and so quiet.
We had just got home from a family Christmas Eve party and the kids were ready for bed. Thankfully.
D was at work and I was in for it. All by myself. I knew that, and had prepared better this year.
1st by wrapping everything days before and 2nd by having Santa bring something you want, something you need, something you wear and something you read. We also tried for the first time of drawing names and learning how to give. The kids loved it and it will now be a family tradition.
so simple.
I cried when I saw Ava's gift for Jesus under the tree and I said a thankful prayer before getting all nestled in bed.
It was the BEST Christmas ever!

What a GREAT Christmas!
I totally want to do that need/wear/read/want tradition - might help to curb the grandparents, too!
Next year, I'm going to make sure to take a picture of Connor with all of his "loot" on Christmas Day... wish I hadn't forgotten to do that this year!
