Silent Night

All was calm and so quiet.

We had just got home from a family Christmas Eve party and the kids were ready for bed. Thankfully.

D was at work and I was in for it. All by myself. I knew that, and had prepared better this year.

1st by wrapping everything days before and 2nd by having Santa bring something you want, something you need, something you wear and something you read. We also tried for the first time of drawing names and learning how to give. The kids loved it and it will now be a family tradition.

so simple.

I cried when I saw Ava's gift for Jesus under the tree and I said a thankful prayer before getting all nestled in bed.

It was the BEST Christmas ever!

Merry CHRISTmas!

I was looking at some emails the other day and came across one that was titled XMAS.

I sent it to junk mail.

I hate that! X-mas...who does that?

During one of my long, before marraige talks with Derek he always told me that he loves his last name because it starts with Christ and that is how he wants to and does live his life: Start with Christ!

I love him for that and have always tried to live that way too and I am especially reminded of that this time of year.

I came across this as well and just had share:

Here comes Suzy Snowflake!

Ava had her first dance concert today..." 'Twas the Night Before Christmas! "

and our little family was so excited to go and watch! Even Deacon couldn't take his eyes off the dancers and would clap in between the performances!

The three "A's"! The teacher had them wear any hat, gloves and scarve for their costume and Ava picked out "snowflake" tights because that was the name of the song she danced too. But, I think her favorite part was to wear make-up! They were so excited!

And here is the performance...watch it! It is so worth the minute or two to see how cute they all were! Ava is in the middle.

After the concert we got to sit on Santa's lap (again) and got treated with lunch by Daddy to celebrate! We are so proud of our little performer!!
